    55 Alive (8-Hour & 4-Hour Refresher Classes) 8 HOUR CLASS: The 55 Alive Mature Driving 8-hour class is an innovative classroom driver retraining program for persons age 55 and over that is designed to help improve their driving skills. This 8-hour course is geared to the specific needs of older motorists. Minnesota state law requires all insurance companies to give a premium deduction to all persons who complete this accident prevention course. You must attend both days for the 8-hour class in order to obtain a certificate. 4 HOUR REFRESHER: The 55 Alive Mature Driving 4-hour refresher class is for those individuals who have completed the 8-hour defensive driving program and need to renew their certification. 55 Alive classes are held at: *Community Education Center 60 Central Ave. W St. Michael, MN 55376 Room 209 (Enter Door A or B) *Community Education Center is the building directly behind the "historic Catholic Church" on Hwy 19. There is a one-way small road off of Hwy 19 (between the cemetery and church) that brings you into the parking lot by Door A enter there.     Experience a mini-week long camp! Campers will get to experience everyday life at a barn! Life in the barn will include activities such as; daily riding, learning how to braid manes and tails with ribbon, groom and care for the horses (including bathing) and feed them at the end of the day. This is a great time for campers to spend time outdoors and build lasting friendships with fellow horse lovers in a structured and positive environment. Campers are broken into smaller groups of similar riding experience, which is perfect for both the new and more experienced riders. Please note that riding takes about 1 hour per day in an arena, no trails and consist of learning to how to steer, stop, turn, and walk/trot on their own. Campers will spend time on the ground with horses throughout the rest of the day. Once you've registered with STMA Community Ed, please visit Boulder Pointe Equestrian & Events Center's website HERE to fill out their Release and Liability Form. Camps are held rain or shine, as there is an indoor barn and arena. Parent drop-off is at 9am and parent pickup is 3pm. Sorry, Boulder Pointe does not allow parents to stay for the day.     Campers will get to ride a real horse in an arena, meet a number of our different horses at Boulder Pointe and learn about how to groom the horses...all with a focus on safety! In addition, students will do an art project and have an opportunity to make horse treats to feed their new friends. Stations are split into 15 minute intervals to keep everyone engaged. Parents have the opportunity to lead their child on the horse and take photographs as they go. This 2-hour camp is designed for parent/guardian participation. Parent/Guardian is expected to remain with their child during the entire duration of the camp.     Carlos Creek Winery Upon arrival in Alexandria lunch will be served at the Pike & Pint Grill for one of two meal options: 1.) WALLEYE SANDWICH - Panko-crusted walleye pike, shredded lettuce, tomato, and onion with our house made tartar sauce, French Fries, Beverage. 2.) There is an incline and guests should be prepared to walk a mile or so on the tour. After the tour, purchase some Minnesota Nice Wines, such as Hot Dish Red, Wobegon White and You Betcha Blush.
