Menu: Chicken ala King - Tender pieces of chicken, mushrooms, red and green peppers in a sherry cream sauce served over a puff pastry shell, mashed potatoes, vegetable of the day, beverage and a small dessert. 12:30 p.m. Leave the Lowell Inn. 1:30 p.m. Arrive at the Chateau Winery nestled in the rolling hills of the St. Croix River Valley.It will take your breath away as you walk into the castle-like building.You’ll feel like you are being whisked away to an historic French chateau. Divide into two groups for a tasting and a tour of the production area and Barrel Room.Explore the old-world charm of a winery created in the image of a European Estate with a carriage house, stables and formal gardens. After the tour and tasting, relax and enjoy the beautiful setting. Duluth, MN (Canal Park) - 2 Day Trip (May 21 & 22, 2025) Come along with us for a fun-filled overnight trip to Duluth! DAY I: Tobies: Rest stop, enjoy a coffee and roll on our way to Duluth. Glensheen Mansion (self-guided tour): The estate is located on the shores of Lake Superior. Guests view the family living and work spaces showcasing original interiors in styles ranging from Renaissance Revival and Colonial Revival to Arts & Crafts. Also view the basement, first floor, and second floor. The mansion’s central hallway is paneled from floor to ceiling with fumed oak, a process whereby the oak is treated with ammonia fumes to bring out the grain and imbue the wood with an unusual color. Take time to enjoy the beautiful lakefront grounds featuring meticulous plantings and gardens (weather permitting).Wander along the paths of the formal gardens and explore twelve-acres surrounding the home. Grandma's Saloon & Grill (buffet-style lunch): Marathon Spaghetti featuring zesty meat and tomato sauce with meatballs, Italian Breadsticks, Caesar‘s Salad, Beverage. After lunch stroll along the streets of Canal Park. Visit the Maritime Visitor Center, stand near the Aerial Lift Bridge to watch ships entering and leaving the harbor, indulge in a sweet treat at Love Creamery or Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, or step inside one of the galleries featuring works of local artisans! Take time to use the rest room and visit the gift store. The train staff will load guests into the dining cars. 11:15 a.m. Depart on the Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad.The historic railroad recreates the atmosphere of rail travel using rebuilt cars from 1912 to 1918.Ride the rails to Bean Creek. Have lunch in the dining car. Menu: Chicken Entrée with Rice, Vegetable, Dinner Roll, Cookie and Coffee or Lemonade. STILLWATER CRUISE & BROWSING TRIP This trip offers an excellent blend of history, scenery, shopping, and culture. Cruise the St. Croix River for a 2-hour climate-controlled vessel while dining on a delicious deli luncheon served buffet style.
