    Carlos Creek Winery Upon arrival in Alexandria lunch will be served at the Pike & Pint Grill for one of two meal options: 1.) WALLEYE SANDWICH - Panko-crusted walleye pike, shredded lettuce, tomato, and onion with our house made tartar sauce, French Fries, Beverage. 2.) SMOKIN’ GOOD CHICKEN - Grilled chicken breast, garlic aioli, bacon, lettuce, tomato and smoked Gouda cheese. Served with Coleslaw, Beverage. After lunch we’ll head to Carlos Creek Winery, one of the largest grape vineyards in Minnesota. This second-generation family-owned winery produces uniquely delicious fine and signature wines made right here in Minnesota. The Bredeson family uses a combination of ancient and modern techniques to produce award-winning wines. On the tour you will visit the Vineyards and the production area. There is an incline and guests should be prepared to walk a mile or so on the tour. After the tour, purchase some Minnesota Nice Wines, such as Hot Dish Red, Wobegon White and You Betcha Blush. You can also sample the “pick of the month” offerings. Please wear comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing.     EXCELSIOR HISTORY A tour guide will board the motor coach upon arrival in Excelsior for a *sightseeing tour of beautiful Lake Minnetonka. After the tour, enjoy lunch by the shores of Lake Minnetonka at Maynards Restaurant. Tasty Menu: Half Sandwich, Cup of Soup, Beverage. After lunch, motor coach will transfer the group to the Excelsior Streetcar in downtown Excelsior where you can enjoy a trolley trip along a half-mile of track. If the Minnetonka Historical Society Museum is open, (summer dates not yet determined), guests can see artifacts and exhibits about the south Lake Minnetonka area and historic Excelsior. In addition, you will have time to enjoy the quaint shops along Water Street downtown Excelsior. Stroll to a variety of stores such as: Casper’s - with whimsical home accessories, The Country Look in Antiques - featuring the charm of Colonial New England or the Excelsior Mill, which is a renovated lumberyard that was built at the turn of the century. It recreates the flavor of the past with a bench lined central “garden” court and half dozen shops filled with distinctive gifts and accessories.     La Crosse Wisconsin River Cruise As we venture our way down to La Crosse, we’ll stop at L.A.R.K. Toys in Kellogg, MN for coffee and a treat (included). Thousands of visitors pass through the doors every year to see the huge collection of antique toys, wooden toys, specialty toys. You can even ride the large hand-carved operating carousel (cost about $2 per person) during the stop! Also, make sure to shop in the bookstore. Then we’ll hop back on the bus and follow the colorful Great Mississippi River Road on our way to beautiful La Crosse. We’ll board the La Crosse Queen for our sightseeing cruise along the Mississippi River. While we’re cruising enjoy a buffet service luncheon in the main cabin. Menu: Swedish Meatballs and Ham, Potato, Vegetable, Rolls, Dessert and Coffee. The vessel has a climate controlled main cabin surrounded by windows. The La Crosse Queen is a modern-day replica of the grand riverboats that plied the Mississippi River in the late 19th Century. Take in the scenic treasures of the Mississippi River including one of the oldest swing bridges still in operation today. Watch for wildlife, see the Lock and Dam system, and other scenic and historic sites along the Upper Mississippi River. Make a rest stop (on own) at the Apache Mall Food Court in Rochester on our way home.     LEINENKUGEL BREWERY Enjoy lunch upon arrival in downtown Chippewa Falls at the Fill Inn Station Restaurant. It is a long-standing neighborhood fixture in a former gas station offering home-style American comfort food. Buffet style service Menu: Broasted Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Corn, Coleslaw, Rolls, Coffee. After your delicious lunch, you will go to the Leinie Lodge Hospitality Center for a guided tour of the Leinenkugel Brewing Company. Hear about the historic Jacob Leinenkugel’s Brewing Company and how they use an old-world Germanic brewing method dating back to 1867. You can purchase Leinie’s merchandise in the Gift Shop, view historic memorabilia, and sample handcrafted beer. NOTE: This is a working brewery and tours are secondary to production so tours may need to be altered. Guests need to be prepared to walk for one mile. Path is handicap accessible. Safety glasses are provided and must be worn. A portion of the tour is outdoors and there is an increase in temperature inside the brewery buildings so dress appropriately. Tours may need to be cancelled or delayed if there is inclement weather or a severe storm event. Trip leader must provide a name tag for each passenger. Canes, walkers, and collapsible wheelchairs will fit under the motor coach. On the way back home, the motor coach will stop at the Menomonie Creamery where you can purchase cheese, snacks, and other refreshments.
