FIRST Tech Challenge

Youth Activities & Classes / Middle & High School Enrichment -
Fall 2023

FIRST Tech Challenge students design, build, and code their robots to compete against other local area teams in a full season of robotics engineering.

Every season has a unique challenge with new ways to score points that challenge builders to innovate.

There is no instruction manual to build these robots so teams must design them from the ground up.

Robots are built from a reusable platform, powered by Android technology, and must fit into an 18x18" cube.

First Technical Challenge (FTC) is the precursor to the competitive high school robotics team, The Binary Battalion, which competes in First Robotics Competition (FRC).

This program is for students in grades 7-9 in the 23-24 school year.

Ninth grade students interested in joining the high school FRC team in 2024 must have experience in FTC as well as a coach's recommendation. The season tentatively begins on Sept 9th with a kickoff party and runs through Jan 21st. The anticipated schedule will be Tues/Thurs practices from 5:30-7:30pm with 5 Saturday competitions as well as the chance to compete at state and national levels. When the schedule is finalized parents will be notified.
