COVID-19 PROTOCOL: STMA Community Education Youth Basketball Sports COVID-19 Protocol Basketball Guidelines

Parents are required to ask the health screening questions to their child before leaving home.

If a participant is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms of illness, (i.e new onset/worsening cough, shortness of breath, fever of 100.0 F or greater, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, headache, new loss of taste/smell, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting) they will not be allowed to attend practices or games.

If a student or participant is being excluded from school due to COVID symptoms, they should not attend practices or games until they are able to return to school.

Practice social distancing of 6 feet as much as possible.

Players and parents MUST wear a mask into the building, but the players may take it off when beginning practice/games. The masks must be worn again on the way out of the building.

Parents should drop off and pick up their children outside.

Attendance of participants will be taken and saved every day.

To limit the use of drinking fountains, participants should bring their own water bottles to practice.

No sharing of water bottles or community snacks will be allowed.

Pod sizes of 25 or fewer will be allowed in the gym.

Intermixing of pods will be kept at a minimum.

Social distancing among pods will be practiced when reasonable and possible.

Coach Guidelines

Community Education coaches are asked to do a personal health screening before arriving at the facility.

If a staff member is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms of illness, (i.e. sore throat, fever of 100 degrees or higher, new or onset worsening cough, loss of taste/smell, nausea or vomiting) they should stay home and contact Maryellen Barthel at 497-6511.

All coaches will be required to wear a mask/face covering at practices.

Practice social distancing of 6 feet as much as possible.

Coaches will practice good hand hygiene.

Coaches should take attendance before every practice and game.

Spectator Guidelines

Parents/spectators are asked to do a personal health screening before arriving at the facility.

If a spectator is exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms of illness, (i.e new onset/worsening cough, shortness of breath, fever of 100.0 F or greater, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, headache, new loss of taste/smell, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting) they will not be allowed to enter the building or attend the class and are asked to stay home.

Practice social distancing of 6 feet as much as possible.

Spectators MUST wear masks the entire time inside the facility.

Parents and caregivers should not attend or watch practices when possible.. Their presence would affect pod ratio and allow less children to participate.

If Spectators are allowed:

Only one parent will be allowed at games. We can only have 25 spectators at each game. Please do not bring any other children or siblings to the games!
